Volunteer Service Awards

The Ontario Volunteer Service Awards honour the thousands of people who generously contribute their time as volunteers across Ontario. These awards are an important way to recognize volunteers who have provided service over many years. Nomination Deadline: January 25 each year

Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers

The Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers recognizes the outstanding achievements of youth volunteers across the province. By honouring outstanding contributions made by youth volunteers, this award recognizes exceptional young people as role models. Many of our youth volunteers are future leaders. Up to 10 recipients are chosen each year. Nomination Deadline: January 31 each year

Newcomer Champion Awards

Newcomer Champion Awards recognize individuals and groups who have made a difference in their community and province through active citizenship and engagement. Award recipients are champions of voluntarism, proud supporters of newcomers, and advocates of greater social and civic inclusion. 2012 Nomination Deadline: March 15, 2012

The Order of Ontario

The Order of Ontario is the province’s highest honour. It recognizes Ontarians who have made an outstanding contribution to society in Ontario and around the world. Past recipients have contributed to education, the arts, community and public service, science and medicine, citizenship and multiculturalism, business, sports, and many other fields. Those who are invested into the Order of Ontario are considered an example of excellence to all Ontarians. 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

Senior of the Year Award

Recipients of the Ontario Senior of the Year Award are people who have made their communities better places to live. Recipients must be over 65 years old. Only municipalities can nominate seniors for this award. Information about nominations is provided each year to about 200 municipalities in Ontario. 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

Lincoln M. Alexander Award

Since 1993, The Lincoln M. Alexander Award has recognized young people who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in eliminating racial discrimination. Each year, three young people, between the ages of 16 and 25, receive an award of $5,000 each and a framed scroll. 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

Canada Post Literacy Award

The program was established in 1993 to discover and acknowledge the achievements of Canadians who have made a special effort or an important contribution to literacy. Today, the Community Literacy Awards program continues to celebrate the achievements of both adult learners and those who have helped them learn to read and write. 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

The Council Award, Honouring Outstanding Ontario Physicians

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is seeking to recognize outstanding physicians who have demonstrated excellence and come closest to meeting society's vision of an "ideal physician". 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

The Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship 

Established in 1973, the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship honours Ontarians who, through exceptional, long-term efforts, have made outstanding contributions to life in their communities. 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

Land O'Lakes Vision Award

The Vision Award will be given to selected businesses in each of the 9 municipalities of the Land O'Lakes Tourist Region that have show innovation, expansion and extraordinary determination to grow in rural communities. 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

Premier's Awards for Excellence in the Arts

This is an opportunity to show support for an artist or arts organization in Ontario that you feel deserves to be in the spotlight. Awards are conferred in two categories: Individual Artist, and Arts Organization. 2012 Nomination Deadline: TBA

June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism
