Are you interested in becoming a candidate in 2010?

The next municipal election will be on October 25, 2010.


During this election Loyalist Township residents will vote for the following offices:
Reeve  (1)
Deputy Reeve (1)
Township Councillors (5 for 3 wards)
School Board Trustees for 4 local school boards

NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM JANUARY 4, 2010 - SEPTEMBER 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.

 
WHAT'S NEW

Bill 212 (Good Government Act, 2009) has recently been passed by the Ontario Legislature.  This Bill made several amendments to the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

Some changes that occurred, include key dates in the election calendar.

Candidates, for municipal Council or School Board Trustee, should visit Candidate Information for further information.

ALL CANDIDATES:   Please contact Brenda Hamilton, Director of Administrative Services / Clerk at 613-386-7351 ext. 121 for an appointment to file nomination papers.    Since only the Clerk or designate may accept nomination papers, it is prudent to call before attending at the municipal offices to ensure that someone is available to receive the papers
