January 4 - Nomination and Campaign Period commences
- Candidates can begin registering for the offices of Reeve, Deputy Reeve, Councillor and School Board Trustee. Nomination papers can be filed with the Township Clerk. In the case of School Board Trustees, the Nomination papers must be filed with the Clerk responsible for that particular election.
May to June - Province's Assessment Commissioner enumerates Ontario's eligible voters and compiles the Loyalist Township Voters' List.
September 1 - Voters' List posted at the municipal offices -Odessa and Amherst Island.
September 7 - Revision Period commences ( Sept. 7 - October 25)
- Voters' List available for viewing at the Municipal Offices - Odessa and Amherst Island
- Voters can begin to make changes to their personal information on the Voters' List by filling out an Application to Amend the Voters' List form as of September 7th.
- Voters can begin to remove names (for example, the name of a deceased family member) from the Voters' List by completing an Application to Remove Another Person's Name from the Voters' List (Between Tuesday, September 7 and Friday, September 10)
September 10 - Nomination Day - nominations may be filed at the Odessa Municipal Office with the Returning Officer between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
- Deadline for the removal of a name from the Voters' List.
- Appointment of Voting Proxy commences (deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Voting Day, October 25, 2010)
September 13 - List of candidates is finalized.
October 16 - Advance Vote
On Saturday, October 16th an advance vote will be held for the purpose of receiving votes of electors who expect to be unable to vote on Voting Day in the subdivision for which their names appear on the voting lists. The following locations will hold an Advance Vote: - Ward 1 Amherst Island Ferry Office 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Ward 2 Bath Fire Hall, 241 Church Street, Bath 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Ward 3 Odessa Municipal Office, 263 Main Street, Odessa 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Ward 3 Amherstview Community Hall, 108 Amherst Drive, Amherstview 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.
October 25 - Voting day, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Deadline for proxy registration is voting day at 5 p.m.
- Deadline for voters to make changes to their personal information on the voters' list - at the voting place.
October 26 - Clerk/Returning Officer declares official election results as soon as possible after Final Voting Day
December 1 - Council's Term of office commences
December 6 - Inaugural Council meeting 11:00 a.m. - Council Chambers
December 31 March 25, 2011 - 2:00 p.m. - Deadline for filing Financial Statements for reporting period ending December 31, 2010
