Request for Standing Offer 2019-24 - External Legal Services

Information on this procurement can be found on the Loyalist Township Procurement Portal and will be available on January 7, 2020 at 12:00 PM.

Loyalist Township wishes to access legal services from qualified external legal service providers for the next three-year period in an innovative manner but also in a way that will be workable, as well as financially and administratively sustainable. The Township anticipates legal, financial and other challenges over the next three-year term of Council and the Township is committed to responding accordingly. New and innovative ways of delivering municipal services and infrastructure will consequently continue to be of significant interest to the Township. As with any other municipality, the manner in which the Township transacts business and delivers services and programs to its residents will always attract public attention. The Township strives to conduct itself in an open, transparent and impartial manner. Although the Township cannot guarantee any particular volume of outsourced work, it is anticipated that the Township will have a need for external legal services for the years 2020 – 2022. External Legal Service Providers need to have the flexibility and business and human resources acumen to adapt to fluctuations in the demand for external legal services. The Township will require external legal services in the practice areas of: 1. General Municipal law; 2. Municipal Finance, Tax and Assessment 3. Environmental Law 4. Planning, Development and Real Estate Law 5. Litigation and Dispute Resolution 6. Labour and Employment Law
