Amherstview Water Tower Relining Project Updates
Amherstview Water Tower Lining Project - Weekly Updates
Beginning on April 30, 2018, Loyalist Township Utilities will temporarily close down the Amherstview water tower in order to undertake the relining of the tank's interior. The relining work is necessary to preserve the integrity of the tower. Throughout the entirety of the tower shutdown, Loyalist Township will impose a total ban on the outdoor use of municipally-treated water throughout Amherstview, including the Brooklands and Harewood subdivisions*. The ban will be in place from April 30, 2018 until June 15, 2018.
The ban will mean no use of outdoor water hoses for the purpose of filling of pools, watering of sod or trees, washing cars, or other outdoor use of municipal water. This will be strictly enforced by by-law officers from Frontenac Municipal Law Enforcement, who will patrol affected areas. However, watering of gardens with a watering can is permitted, as is watering with collected rain water.
This webpage has been created to provide weekly updates to residents regarding the project and the ban on outdoor use of municipally-treated water. Beginning April 30, 2018 and for the duration of the project, weekly progress and water ban updates will be provided below each Friday by noon. If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact the Odessa Municipal Office at 613-386-7351, ext. 116.
*Municipal water customers in Odessa and Bath are not affected by this work, and therefore should continue to follow the usual seasonal outdoor water use restrictions, which can be found here.
