Wilton Playground Grand Re-Opening
The Wilton Community Association (WCA) is proud to announce that, in partnership with Loyalist Township, the necessary funds for new equipment have been raised. Construction on the base has already begun at the Playground in Wilton, Ontario. Much effort is being made to make paths and features wheelchair accessible.
The new climbing structure, along with enhanced safety features to the existing equipment, will be unveiled to the community on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 4pm. Everyone is invited to join us at the playground for a celebration with music, cake and goodies.
A plaque acknowledging the generous donors from the community who made this possible will be unveiled along with a special park bench in memory of Victor Scott to recognize a major donation made by the McBride and Wagar families. Victor Scott (1921-1976) was very active in organizing activities for Wilton’s children in the 1950s and 1960s.
We are also grateful to the volunteer members of our Playground Committee – Jo-Anne Crook, Sandy Salt, Amanda Stewart and Ed Amell as well as Loyalist Township Recreation Services, for their work to make this playground enhancement a reality.
