Fire Chief Fred Stephenson Receives Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal
On August 8, 2017, Loyalist Township Emergency Services Fire Chief Fred Stephenson was presented with the Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal. Chief Stephenson received this honour in recognition of his 30 years of loyal services to public safety to the residents of Loyalist Township.
The Fire Services Exemplary Service Medals were established in 1985 by Her Majesty The Queen, to honour members of a recognized Canadian fire service who have completed 20+ years of service, ten years of which have been served in the performance of duties involving potential risks, and were employed on or after the date of creation of the Medal.
The silver medal is embossed with a Maltese cross, crossed axes, and a fire hydrant against a maple leaf background and is held by a gold and red ribbon.
“Chief Stephenson has provided loyal, dedicated and outstanding leadership to his department on an ongoing basis. We are very fortunate to have someone of Fred’s skill and experience in our employ, said Loyalist Township Mayor, Bill Lowry. “On behalf of Loyalist Township Council, I commend Chief Stephenson for his dedication to the safety and well-being of our community members.”
