New Aerial Truck 941 Commissioned by Emergency Services

The Loyalist Township 2017 Capital Budget included an amount for the purchase of an Aerial Device to operate out of the Amherstview Fire Station. In August of 2017, Loyalist Township council approved the purchase of a new Aerial Truck from TechnoFeu.

On July 3, 2018,  Loyalist Township Emergency Services commissioned the new Aerial Truck #941 into service via a Wet Down ceremony.  The Wet Down ceremony was performed by Loyalist Township Mayor, Bill Lowry and Fire Chief, Fred Stephenson using the two existing trucks. A Wet Down ceremony is a tradition in firefighting communities as a way of welcoming a new apparatus in to service and by bringing good luck to the equipment.

The addition of an Aerial Device in Amherstview will greatly enhance response capability, as well as protect the Township’s insurance rating.
