Proposals Being Accepted For Purchase of Two Antique Fire Trucks

A Staff Report was provided to Council on October 28, 2019 with regards to two antique fire trucks. Space within our Fire Stations is limited and these trucks take up a full bay within their respective stations. LTES will be taking delivery of a new tanker in the summer of 2020 which will displace one of these vehicles.

Loyalist Township Council adopted the recommendation that the Director of Emergency Services seek input from Loyalist Township residents as to utilization and/or disposal of these antique trucks.

The results from public input were presented to Council at the November 25th meeting of Council in Staff Report SR-1208. Council adopted the recommendation that the Director of Emergency Services advertise for sale both the 1952 GMC and the 1962 International antique trucks and that the submission include the purchasers plans for the truck with preference given to submissions that would allow the trucks to be kept locally.

Individuals interested in submitting a proposal for purchasing one/both of the antique trucks are invited to complete a submission below. Submissions will be accepted until Friday, December 13, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. EST. Hard copies of the submission form are available at the Loyalist Township Administration Office (263 Main Street, Odessa), the WJ Henderson Recreation Centre (322 Amherst Drive, Amherstview) and the Leisure & Activity Centre (177 Upper Park Road, Amherstview).
