Flooding is a natural hazard that can happen at any time of year. Although flash floods do occur, typically, weather forecasts can predict rain or quick thaw events and there is often an opportunity to take action to protect yourself and your property.
Flooding can pose many negative consequences for communities, including:
• population displacement
• disruption of critical infrastructure
• business interruption
• output loss due to capital damage and displacement of workers
• threats to physical health
In order to prepare residents in the event of a flood or high-water incident, the municipality has indexed the following flood resources.
