Carl was first elected to the former Township of Ernestown Council in November, 1991 and has served 9 years as a councillor and 6 years as Deputy Reeve for Loyalist Township. Carl currently serves on Council as Councillor – Ward 3.

Carl has served on County Council during his terms as Deputy Reeve and on KFLA Board of Health, the Algonquin Lands Claim Committee and several other Loyalist Township committees. He currently serves on the Heritage Committee and the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority.

He lives in Amherstview with his wife, Colleen. Their 3 children are attending college or university. Carl was a teacher for 30 years most of which was with Limestone District School Board and now is a sales representative with Royal LePage ProAlliance Realty.
